  • What do you love about sports with dogs?

The interaction with the dog, being in nature together with your dog and the bond you have together. Seeing them grow and perform together as 1 team. The best is when you can get the best out of each dog.

  • What breed of dog(s) do you have and what is/are their name(s)?

We have hounds : Milano, Roch, Ruori, Mauri, Jari, Glut, Snowy, Eli, Zagatto, Chess, Choice, Armani

  • What sports do you play?

We used to run 6 or 8 span for sledding and now given the age of the dogs we are going to 4 span (both cart and sled) as well as stepping with 1 or 2 dogs.

  • How long have you been active in this sport(s)?

Hans has been active in the sport for 40 years, Femke for 15 years.

  • Which part do you prefer and why?

A team for the sled is a very beautiful feeling. The sound of the paws in the snow and the speed is a great experience. But all parts have their own charm. With a dog in front of the scooter is an intense individual experience with your dog.

  • What are your goals for the future in this sport(s)?

In the future with fewer dogs also get the best out of our dogs.

  • What is your greatest sports moment to date?

  • What is the funniest or least funny sports moment to date?

The loss of any dog hurts again. With many dogs there are also more painful moments, unexpectedly losing a dog always remains very sad. But fortunately the nice moments outweigh that sadness.

  • Can you give one tip to other canicrossers/steppers/bikers/sled dog mushers what is best to do/don’t do in this sport(s)?

Don’t start 😉. Once you start you are sold.

Be honest with your dog, do not expect accomplishments that he or she cannot deliver. Not every dog can achieve top performance, though he remains great friend.

  • What is your favorite Fastdog product for your dog(s)?

The Power bonbons and the recovery shake are by far the favorite in this Team. Not only because the dogs love the taste, but also because we know it really works.
